The Inter Milan Kit Paradox

In 2021, Nike put Inter Milan’s kit design in the hands of Angelo Trofa, a lifelong Inter fan and extremely talented designer.

For three seasons, he introduced bold, creative ideas. But many of Inter’s traditional fans seemed to reject them.

How could a fan designing for his own club fail to win over supporters?

This is the Inter Milan Kit Paradox.

  1. It's not hard to make good kits. I saw at least a hundred fan made kits online. All of them looked far better and were more traditional than the last ones. I liked the 2021-22 season kit

  2. I'm not a inter fan, i just don't like these past inter home kits because they're ugly
Especially the 24/25 one, How did he think a shirt that was only 1/4 diagonal and completely asymmetrical would look good? I mean, maybe for the elite in those Balenciaga fashion shows something extravagant like that might look good, but for the ordinary people supporting their club, this just looks awful.

  3. I’m an Inter fan but I don’t see what’s so bad about the kits in recent years. Not the best but definitely nothing to complain about. They’re definitely better than the Inter kits from 2012 – 2020. I thought those were awful. I’m also a type of designer so that’s also influencing my opinions.

  4. Im the original designer of current inter home shirt…it was an unofficial consadole sapporo i designed 4 years ago….original at least in the sense that my design predates trofa s…angelo knows me very well…we have started posti g in designfootball in 2010 at same time…we are not in speaking terms for long time now, the strong similarity between the 2 shirts may even be a coincidence, im not accusi g explicitly…fact is i contacted him to hear his explanation he never wanted to give…i think at this point im going to post my own video with all details of the story, from my point of view…and no, current inter is not a bad shirt but it is too daring for a classic inter shirt…however fans should be fans not designers…dont buy the shirt if you dont like it

  5. A fan is designing the kits?? That is what you WANT! Give him time. These kits have not been incredible, but they have not been bad.

Besides, nothing can be as bad as the awful RED kit from 2012. Disgusting that we'd ever use the color of our rival, even with the color's history with the actual city of Milan.

Also, the kit you all designed is very cool

  6. It's curious but since Pirelli is not a sponsor anymore Inter has lost something. Plus, most of the latest designs lack identity, which is quite strange for a club with a strong uniform and colors

  7. As an Inter Milan fan, I would pay the double prize if your concept will be our next season home jersey! The 2025 leaked shirt is the worst ever: lines too short (it's a footbll jersey, not a pijama), the lighter blue of the logos is awful in that context, the collar looks like the old primary school one. Really really bad. Nike is in a neverending fall from years, I hope Inter will change soon its jersey partner.

  9. Last years kit was great but the season before and this season aren’t exactly it. I want it to keep our identity and be modern or at least from time to time do throwback kits for the nostalgic fans. The leaked kit looks like atrocious pin strip from the banter era but I would like Inter to maybe get rid of Nike and maybe try out Adidas or Puma as a kit sponsor. Idk, an idea.

  10. As an Inter fan, I think the 2021/2022 jersey is the best and most revolutionary in the club's history, and I believe it's one of the best among all clubs. I also like the 2015/2016 jersey; it's also one of the best.

  11. Much better than the crap Nike is making for the last few years, I would have added more gold here and there but the kit is better than this season's and next season for sure

  12. I think ‘don’t fix something that is not broken’ sums it up. For example, I don’t think this year’s kit was bad but it would’ve been better if the stripes were just vertical. The stripes design without any weird tweaks works and that’s what the people want so just give it to the people. There’s a lot of room to experiment with the away and third kit, there’s no shame in staying traditional for the home kit.

  13. 2025/26 shirts its just bad, how can you not see how bad it is? You should see "INTER" written behind the strips, but all you can see it's just bad shape strips, a nosense shirt.
I'm a die hard Inter fan

  14. I like this shirt however I do understand how us inter fans don’t like these recent kits as a lot of us including myself prefer a more clean and old fashioned look along with it also being a bit rugged it is still a nice kit though and I do look forward to seeing this new era of inter shirts, forza inter 🖤💙

  15. Guys respect for your work but no, you missed it IMO. Black and blue stripes, no details, no strange curves on the shoulders or on the sides, just black and blue stripes, it's easy.
Some of the most loved jerseys are 88/89, 07/08, 09/10: take a black stripe, put a blue one by its side, go on like that and it is done.
For me the perfect modern jersey was the 19/20 jersey without the diagonal pattern in the middle.

  16. In my opinion the kits from 23/24 onwards are really not what Inter kits should be. The designs are making fun of and ruining the potential of the elegant narazzurri stripes that most of us love. But even before this designer, in the period of 2012-2021, nike designed a lot of home kits that similarly realy upset me as a fan, with the final blow being the badge change that became soulless. Before that Inter had beautiful and iconic kits every single year, with just the right taste when switching up the design every year. And I do not think it is just about being traditional, I welcome inovation if it is of good taste (like with the 2 away kits with snakes, central badge, or the horizontal stripes on the 3rd kits). But based on past years, this has to stop, i'd rather have boring changes every season that this.

  17. As an inter fan from Milano for almost 35 years im telling you these past few years it feels like nike is just messing with us – the kits are complete ASS – how hard is it to design some kit with some fucking vertical stripes ?! kits are horrible to the point where i stopped buying this years kit and will probably skip nex year as well !

  18. As a inter fan we want for the home kit just black and blue traditional stripes. No strange things or fancy patterns. If is not possible maybe bring back to classic every 3 or 4 years. With the away kit aswell, white with the blue black fascia. We are inter, we are neroazzurri.
